Spencer Schar is an entrepreneur based in Lake County, US. Having graduated from Elon University in 2021 with a bachelor's degree in finance, Spencer Schar subsequently studied at the University of Central Florida, graduating with an MBA in 2023. In the course of his two years of study, Spencer Schar worked full-time while maintaining an average 3.85 GPA.
The Professional MBA operated by the University of Central Florida is a limited enrollment and cohort-based study program which allows professionals from a wide range of different industries and organizations to come together to enhance their skills, challenge their intellect, and broaden their perspectives, while simultaneously helping participants to grow their networks. The program is specially curated to equip participants with vital decision-making and problem-solving skills, as well as providing the analytical tools necessary to succeed in a competitive marketplace and knowledge of the latest business techniques.
In addition to serving on the board of the Lake Economic Area Development Partnership, an organization created to support businesses of all sizes across Lake County in Central Florida, Spencer Schar is also a member of Lake 100, a member association for small businesses that is committed to advancing economic development across Lake County by providing leadership, advice and guidance.
Lake 100’s goals are to foster smart growth across the region, helping to grow and protect existing businesses, as well as supporting the creation and improvement of public infrastructure projects. In addition, Lake 100 also aims to unite the diverse views, needs and interests of its member organizations and businesses, with the ultimate goal of improving the overall quality of life for residents across Lake County.
From 2012 to 2016, Spencer Schar served as an equipment intern for the Washington Commanders. In this role, he was responsible for preparing the locker room for players and collecting, cleaning, and returning the team’s equipment, clothes, and towels. He also prepared the field for practice, in addition to maintaining equipment to the standard necessary for proper safety, and inflating and preparing more than 100 footballs each summer.
In 2016, Spencer Schar worked in Elon University’s Athletic Video department in an on-campus role filming football games for the livestream and shooting B-roll from the sidelines of games for use in promotional material and advertisements. He was also responsible for editing advertisements for use on the stadium screen and livestream.
In his spare time, Spencer Schar enjoys fishing, kayaking, playing golf, and watching movies, commentaries, and YouTube documentaries. An avid reader, some of his favorite books include the works of Steven Pinker, as well as Blink by Malcolm Gladwell, Thinking, Fast and Slow by Daniel Kahneman, The End of the World is Just the Beginning by William Strauss, and The Sense of Style by Peter Zeihan.
